An excellent performance and great learning experience for all our members who competed in the Irish Junior championships in Sligo this weekend. The final round in the competition saw our two most experienced players, Darrius and Darragh, go head to head in a 77 move epic battle. Darius came out on top and performed exceptionally well overall finishing on 3.5 points. Niamh won a grading prize in the under 8 category. There was a reunion in the under 8 category as Darragh Bierne, a regular in our club until he recently moved west, also took part in the under 8 competition. Cillian performed well in the under 10 category scoring 2.5.
