Upcoming Tournaments

Some upcoming chess competitions that our members may be interested in.

Sunday 26th November: The second LCU Grand Prix tournament will take place in Taney Parish Centre near Dundrum. This is a great event for beginner and intermediate players, hosted by a different Leinster club each month. More details follow this link:

Sunday 10th December 2017: The Mick Germaine Cup is team event for junior/novice players. It will be a six round Swiss event open to teams of 4 players from schools or chess clubs, in the Ierne Sports and Social Club, Drumcondra, Dublin 9. The club will hopefully enter 3 teams in the event. More details follow this link:

January 1-4th 2018: The Leinster Junior Championship: Carysfort Suite, Talbot Hotel
Stillorgan, Co. Dublin. Is an excellent tournament for those wishing to challenge themselves and play longer games. More details see this flyer: and you can enter here.

Also: If you’re willing to travel the Munster Championship is December 2nd to 3rd in Ennis. The competition is open to all juniors but only players resident in Munster Can win the title: https://www.icu.ie/events/1001
